Hand-built Clay Class
With Jana John
Welcome spring with bright handmade pottery. Learn to make a saucy spoonrest or a sweet candy dish — or it might turn out to be a perky pet bowl or a silly soap dish. Making small clay dishes or bowls is fun and easy, and in the process you’ll learn two of the basic techniques of hand-built ceramics – slab construction and pinch pot. Class includes rolling out the clay, cutting and forming shapes and glazing. Includes 2 kiln firings – first, a bisque firing; and then a glaze firing.
April 5, 12 and 19
2 Sundays, 2 to 4 p.m.; plus return on 3rd Sunday to pick up work.
Class limited to 6 students.
$95 (includes materials)
